Bring the whole trip, not just the favorites
A good Short is picked from a lot, so bring everything.
- Already in a shared Google Photos album: bring the album straight in.
- On an iPhone: add the photos and videos from your library.
- Spread across everyone's phones: send a Kindred Scenes link. Each person adds their own, with no app and no account.
Videos matter more in a Short than anywhere else. Ten seconds of the waves or the kids jumping in is what makes someone stop scrolling.
What Kindred Scenes does for the Short
- Picks the best minute. It chooses moments from across the whole trip, not just the first day, with photos and video clips in about the mix your film has. You can ask for more photos or more clips.
- Fills the tall screen. Photos are cropped around the people in them. A wide group shot is shown whole over a soft, blurred copy of itself, so nobody gets cut off and there are no black bars.
- Uses the best seconds of each clip. A long video becomes the few seconds where something happens.
- Cuts to the music. Every change lands on the beat.
- Stays under a minute. That matters on YouTube, where a Short over a minute with a claimed song can be blocked.
Then post it
On a phone, Download then Share hands the Short straight to Instagram, TikTok or your photos. It ends with a small "Made with Kindred Scenes" card.
And the film
The Short is the best minute. The film is the whole trip: chapters, the people, the songs, for the TV at home. Most people make both from the same photos.
